Course Overview

(Previously known as level 1) Students who successfully complete this course will be accredited with HLTFA201A – Provide basic emergency first aid

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures only. It incorporates the unit HLTCPR201A – Perform a CPR. The skills and knowledge learnt enable the first aider to provide an initial response to an emergency in line with practised actions and Australian Resuscitation guidelines, legislation and policies and accepted industry guidelines

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon successful completion of this unit students will be eligible to receive the Provide basic emergency first aid – Statement of Attainment
