History
Morrisons is the largest adult education provider in the eastern region of Melbourne, VIC. It has a proud 33 year history of offering quality learning and engagement opportunities and contributing to the community’s development. This has been achieved through collaborative alliances, innovation and funded government initiatives.

Morrisons operates from 5 locations including training venues, community café, Exhibition Space, Youth Enterprise Shed and Station House.

Men’s Shed
The Men’s Shed provides a venue for men of all ages and backgrounds to meet and participate in community projects.The facility was funded by State Government and the Community Bank.
Some of the projects undertaken include:

Mothers with pram aged children walk together to maintain fitness and have social interaction

There are 2 walking days Wednesday and Friday 9.30am - 11.00am

After walking there are story time session in the library and a chance for parents to have a coffee

Exhibition Space

Located in the Station House Wray Crescent within the Morrison on the Park community café

Local artist and exhibitions are presented on a monthly basis to engage the local community in cultural experiences and introduce emerging and established artists

Launches provide networking and interactive opportunities
The Station House
Located within the original Station Masters house in the main street of the Mount Evelyn village.
This is a co-location project - with partners being; Morrisons, Eastern Regional Libraries and the Shire of Yarra Ranges
The facility houses:
· The Community Link
· The community café - Morrison on the Park
· The Exhibition Space
· The Mount Evelyn Library
Proposed projects include - film groups for adults and children
The Station House models environmental features and provides environmental education programs.
The Community Link
The Community Link acts as a social network building information and service centre for the local community.
The Link has a data base that provides information about Mount Evelyn resources and features and can locates information on request
Community Strengthening
The team of participants from CORE spend 2 days a week in Mt Evelyn undertaking tasks that include:
· Graffiti and rubbish sweeps
· Painting bus stops
· Maintenance of public buildings
· Signage
· Maintenance of parks and gardens
· Community arts projects
Youth Enterprise Shed
The Youth Enterprise Shed receives generous support from the Mt Evelyn & District Community Bank. The Youth Enterprise Shed provides a base in the main street of Mt Evelyn for young people to come together to work on enterprises which connect them to community groups and businesses.
The Youth Enterprise Shed also supports the development of youth activities for young people themselves which enables these young people to develop organisational skills and to understand the requirements connected with developing enterprise.
Activities have included:
· A Youth Summit
· Monthly youth page in m2
· A survey of shoppers views
· The awards night for the local business
· Participation in the Street Festival
· Legal graffiti art walls
Impact Exhibitions:
This project produced a resource for use by schools and community VCAL programs that introduces students and teachers to the concepts behind the creation of exhibitions to create messages or tell a story.
Township Timeline Fence
This project created 12 panels that record a time line of events in Mt Evelyn’s history.
It was a community arts project which engages 5 school and the local Scouts in creating art works that build pride of place and profile the town’s history.
From Earth to Table
This project created a community garden on the Morrison Reserve which has introduced permaculture and organic gardening principles and concepts to community members including; school, VCAL, disability groups and pre-school children
Communal tables are part of the community’s engagement with the project
Family Violence Education Network
The network meets to look at ways to reduce the incidence of Family Violence and educate children and key stakeholders about Family Violence issues
The group has undertaken the following projects:

Solving the Jigsaw which builds resilience in young people and strategies for managing issues in school and home life

Badge days with Grade 6 and Kinder kids working together to produce positive statement badges. This group has representatives from the Police, Churches, Schools, Community Health, Community Groups, Maternal & Child Health and Kinders.
Early Years Literacy Group:
This network has representatives from Kinders, Maternal & Child Health, library. Schools and community groups meets every term to discuss literacy outcomes.
Cafe Morrison
Open Monday to Friday 10am to 1.30pm. Location: Old Hereford Road, Mount Evelyn - Building B
Selection of Hot & Cold food. Freshly made sandwiches and soups. Wide selection of snacks and drinks.
